Dachshund Adopts and Nurses Piglet
Dogster for the love of the dog blog recently reported about a dachshund who added to her already challenging role of mothering three puppies.
I discussed the idea with Abbie to see if she was willing to give of herself to some poor needy animal. She listened attentively as I mentioned how the mother dachshund seemed to really dote on her adopted child. In response Abbie rolled on her back and showed me her stomach. I’d forgotten - Abbie has been fixed - she can’t feed puppies or anything else. Oh well - if you have a baby you can’t be the baby and Abbie really likes being the baby of the house!
